2016 Cannondale CAADX Sora

Whether you're checking out the local cyclocros scene, enjoying weekend adventures, or running errands around town, Cannondale's CAADX Sora covers all the bases. Its CAADX aluminum frame offers low weight and incredible efficiency, while the SAVE stays and carbon fork create a smooth ride. FSA cranks with a stiff BB30 bottom bracket and 'cross-specific chainrings ensure efficient pedaling and the right gear. The 18-speed Shimano Sora drivetrain is perfect for around-town jaunts and exploring off-road, while sturdy Maddux wheels are ready for whatever is in store. Promax Render disc brakes provide great stopping power, even in wet, sloppy conditions, while the all-purpose Schwalbe tires provide versatility. Topped off with high-quality components and saddle from Cannondale, this bike has comfort and performance to spare.

    Comments:

I am 5'2" and I had some trouble finding a CX bike small enough to fit me. This one (the 44 frame size) fits me just fine. I have ridden it on gravel and paved bike trails, freshly graded gravel roads, paved country roads and a little bit on "easy" single track. Its lightness and speed compared to my hybrid bike and 29er is amazing. It is probably just me and probably goes completely against the spirit of cyclocross, but I wish there was a lower gear for hill climbing, especially on loose gravel when biking into the wind! I will be riding it in a race that combines off road, gravel roads, paved roads, rail trails and some killer hills in a couple weeks. I may have more to report then.
